Dedicated Follower of Fashion - Green Dolly

I work in a fairly big company and although they are a pretty relaxed and flexible place, I work in the very Business-y part of the business and so I'm expected to look dressed and pressed each day.

Normally early 60s dressing lends itself very well to corporate wear - wiggle dresses, twin sets and lovely dress/jacket combos, but it's all a bit done in my opinion.
People stop referring to it as 60s and call it "Mad Men inspired". Now don't get me wrong I love Mad Men and Pan Am when that was on, and will put on my dress/jacket combo when the occasion calls but there is a whole other half of the decade to wear!

So in my wardrobe I try to keep a steady round of 60s style work wear from both halves of the decade and just choose the appropriate jewellery and shoes to match.

The late 60s are my favourite- long and loose and dripping in necklaces and bangles.

This was my outfit today:

Kelly Green Shift dress - self-made from Silk Lycra Blend
Beads - self-made
Tights - Supermarket
Dark Green Block heel Shoes - Chinese Laundry from Modcloth

Hopefully I can make this a reoccurring thing as I try to incorporate a little bit of the 60s into my outfits each day

Cat xoxo

    1. Yes! isn't it a great colour? (Pantones colour of the year apparently) I always gravitate towards the greens in the fabric store!

  3. You've compiled a fabulous outfit, and I think it's great that you try and incorporate both halves of the time in you daily wear.

    1. hi! I used the shift dress pattern from Burdastyle, here's the link http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/shift-dress-092012
Its a pretty easy pattern and you can leave out the sleeves if your not confident with set in sleeves - good luck! xo
