The last week of holidays was well spent, I went to the MCA in Sydney to see the Yoko Ono exhibit, visited friends and got lots of housework done. And I also had a huge pile of opp-shop finds that needed new hems or some fitting changes made to them. (One dress I had been waiting to fix for 2 years!)
So unfortunately there are no new fancy new things to show of this week, but I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest looking for work outfit ideas. I'd like to share with you some of my favourite looks which if I could I'd pluck them off the screen and wear them to work!
That would save a lot time in the morning...

What's your style when you go to work? Or do you have a uniform you need to wear?
Have a fabulous week!

Gorgeous pics - I thought of you the other day when I was given some vintage 60's and 70's sewing pattern books - check out my latest post. I'd never heard of this Australian designer!
ReplyDeleteooh! ill go take a look! xo
DeleteI stumbled upon your blog a week or so ago and have been ploughing through all your entries since then. Now I've caught up and just had to comment and tell you have much I like the blog! Your sewing projects and the old pictures you post are really inspirational since I also want to sew 60's clothing, but I never seem to get around to those patterns. Maybe I'll do now, after seeing all your pretty dresses.

wow! thank you so much! i love going back though blog i like a well, though nowadays some of the best ones are years old and take along time to search through.
DeleteYou should totally make some 60s stuff! i cant wait to see it! xo
I can see you in these frolicking frocks, dear Catherine. I'm sure you'll eventually find patterns for some of them and add them to your work wardrobe. I'm glad you made good use of your vacation time and hope the novelty of returning to work doesn't wear off until at least 10 am! :) Have a great week, dear friend!
ReplyDeleteaww thank you Shady! im up at 5:30 and the novelty is gone already sadly...
DeleteOh I wish I could pluck those outfits off the screen too! I hope your first day back at work isn't too painful x

ReplyDeleteUgh, my first week back was last week....I was bloody worn out by the end of the week.
Dressing for work is such a pain! I try to be organised, but often am a bit haphazard!!

DeleteI looove this collection of outfits, esp the rounded collar on Sandy Shaw! I hope your first day back was not too traumatizing and that the rest of the week flies by. <3
ReplyDeletethank you! it was quite ok actually, lots of parcels waiting for me at the mailroom made it easier!
DeleteI love Sandie's outfit - and her shoes! Gosh!
Loved the pics in this week's blogpost! I wear fairly boring things to work, but that has started to slowly change as I begin to sew my own wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteyay! I find the days that i end up talking about sewing with my collegues is always the day im wearing something store bought! your work wardrobe is coming along nicely!
DeleteGood luck going back to work. I love this little selection of outfits that you've chosen out! My favourites are most definitely that gorgeous coat that Paulene Stone is wearing and Sandy Shaw's outfit. Her collar and shoes are the most fab I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteThank you dear! there's nothing like a break after working all year! no intermittent breaks like at uni! ;) Sandie's outfit i think is my favourite. and yes the collar and shoes are the best part! xo
